Annual Meeting, Awards, Networking and Training Event

Come join other Head Start leaders, specialists, staff and parents from across the state for a fun-filled day of networking and celebrations.

Rate $125 per attendee – see group discounts below.

5 – 9 attendees from your agency the rate is only $90
10 or more attendees the rate is only $75
To receive the group discount you must register through the IHSA website and be invoiced.

8 – 9:00am – Registration
8 – 9:00am – Headshot photos – must sign up in advance – no cost – only 45 slots available – so get registered today! First-come first-served basis offered in order of registration.
9-11:45am – Networking Sessions – see below
12:00-1:00 pm – Lunch will be provided while celebrating our state award winners and Iowa Head Start Association’s past, present and future accomplishments and goals.
1:15 – 3:30pm – Guest trainer – Laura Abbe – see details below

Networking sessions to choose from:

Parents – Agenda Alyssa Caldbeck will be presenting Supporting Children and Caregivers Emotional Well-being. This workshop is designed to empower caregivers with knowledge and skills to support their children’s emotional development while addressing the impact of past experiences on caregiving. Participants will gain insights into understanding emotions, learn practical strategies for nurturing their child’s emotional well-being, and explore how their own past experiences can influence their caregiving style. How to seek resources and support services for children and adults will also be discussed.
A Policy Council overview and the history of Head Start will also be discussed.

Special Guest Trainer: Laura Abbe, Certified Conscious Discipline Trainer will be presenting Ignite Your Passion the Conscious Way!

Join Laura Abbe, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor and Mid-Iowa Community Action Head Start/Early Head Start Social Emotional Learning Coach, as she shares 15 years of experience creating spaces and planting seeds of safety and connection in teams, classrooms, and home visits. Together, we will spark our passion brighter lighting a path for resiliency among our communities in Iowa. This interactive training will help us notice the moments of joy in the present. It is in these moments we are able to rest and recharge our hearts and minds. Resilient communities start with a resilient workforce. This training will be all about us!

T-shirts and sweatshirts will be on hand for sale and to take home with you in a variety of colors!
