IHSA Annual Meeting and Fall Conference

Come join other Head Start leaders, specialists, staff and parents from across the state for a fun-filled day of trainings, networking and our annual update.

Rate $125 per attendee – see group discounts below.

Deadline to register is October 28, 2024.

Group discount rates available:

  • 1 – 4 attendees the rate is $125
  • 5 – 9 attendees from your agency the rate is only $100
  • 10 or more attendees the rate is only $75

Networking sessions to choose from:

  • Parents – Mitch Factor – Positive Redirection of Children – for parents and interested staff 
    • Families will be given the skills and tools to help redirect negative behavior into positive behavior with children. The presentation will also give several ideas on preventing negative behavior before it happens. The families will get ideas on establishing a home-based family foundation built on positive behavior and will be given methods to encourage and teach positive behavior and independence to children. Positive behavior creates less stress in the household and in the classroom. WARNING! LAUGHTER MAY ACCURE DURING THIS PRESENTATION!

Mitch specializes in wellness, parent and family involvement, male involvement, promoting positive behaviors, and team building that benefits your entire program staff, children and families. Monica Garner, HSSCO Coordinator and EC-PBIS Team Lead, will be sharing useful information on supporting regulation skills.

Regulation is an essential skill all children and adults need to have in their skill set. Stress has a deep impact on how infants, young children and adults are able to regulate their internal systems. Behavior is exhibited when lack of regulation occurs. This session will review trauma-informed practices to increase understanding and strengthen support of regulation skills.

T-shirts and sweatshirts will be on hand for sale and to take home with you in a variety of colors!
