Title: Head Start DATA… let’s dive in and dive deeper – NO Cost to attend
Purpose: Diving Deeper into the Head Start Data and Research
Head Start has an abundance of data, but we don’t always know how to use it or what to use it for. What can we do with data to help us improve our areas of work? What data has already been analyzed in Iowa? What does it mean and how could we use it?
We have been part of efforts in Iowa over the last 5 years to better understand the impacts of comprehensive early childhood programming including Head Start through our partnership with Iowa’s Integrated Data System for Decisions Making known as I2D2. This work has integrated our Head Start data with other data for Iowa families to help inform our work. There are some exciting new findings about how our programs are helping Iowa families and we want to talk about it. For example, findings showing the value of Head Start participation for potentially eligible families, or how more hours of Head Start support stronger outcomes for children, or how some families seem to be more able to find and enroll in Head Start compared to others.
Please join the Head State State Collaboration Office (HSSCO) and I2D2 team for a morning of “data diving” where we will hear more about these recent findings, consider insights and actions from these data that we could use in our work, and continue to ask relevant questions that our integrated data could answer.
