The Inside Out of Big Behavior: Trauma-Sensitive Skills & Strategies for Early Childhood Educators/Staff
- Educators and Staff explore the effects of big behavior on children aged birth to five and their caregivers, including educators and anyone who works with young children. The first part of the session invites attendees to engage in activities that help them explore their own inside patterns of dysregulation in response to big behavior in their learning setting. From acknowledgement, to support, and suggested strategies for consideration, Ms. Jen will highlight how attendees can work together to improve their well-being while in a highly stressful job role. The next part of the session will focus on improving the staff’s skills necessary for addressing dysregulation outside of themselves (meaning in relation to young children). Finally, Ms. Jen will provide attendees with simple do’s and don’ts for supporting families when their little ones are exhibiting signs of big behavior.
